Berowra Valley Bushland Park

Berowra Valley Bushland Park is in the northern suburbs of Sydney. The Great North Walk goes through the park and there are also smaller side tracks that take you into adjacent suburbs.

These photos were taken in a section of the park near the leafy suburb of Westleigh.

Terrigal

Terrigal is on the Central Coast of NSW - about a 90 minute drive from Sydney. It's got a nice laidback atmosphere and has the usual cafes, restaurants and tourist shops that you'd expect in a seaside holiday town.

Not the best time of day to take photos - just after midday - but the beach was so nice that I wanted to capture something of its appeal.

The Terrigal Surf Life Saving Club - a bit hard to see in the shadows, but there it is!

Cronulla

Cronulla beach is one of Sydney's southern beaches and it is a beautiful place to go for a walk on an autumn afternoon. There is a cliff walk that takes you past the Surf Life Saving Club and to a memorial at Port Hacking.

I love these rock pools! There are heaps of nice rocky sections as you walk around the bay. Sometimes you can look down at the rocks from a cliff and other times they are right there alongside the walkway.

Wentworth Falls

The Blue Mountains National Park is a World Heritage area about 2 hours to the west of Sydney. These pictures were taken at Wentworth Falls on a warm, hazy summer day.

The region is going through a drought so the falls are not flowing as heavily as usual.

Newington Armory

Newington Armory is one of the large areas of parkland at Sydney Olympic Park and a place where public concerts are sometimes held. Today the group TaikOz gave a free concert on the outdoor stage.

The view from the audience as they set up the taiko drums and did a sound-check.

There are more than 100 historic buildings in the Newington Armory.

Port Botany

Right next to the Patrick Container Terminal at Port Botany, there is a boat ramp and a beach with public access. It's a nice spot to wander around and look at the pelicans, but swimming is banned due to industrial pollutants flowing into the water nearby.

Waling out onto the jetty gives you a clear view towards Sydney Airport.

Evatt Park

Evatt Park is in the southern suburb of Lugarno. With its playground, picnic areas and duck pond, the park is a great place for a family picnic.

The park is close to the Georges River; you can walk to the river's edge via a rainforest walking track.
