Evatt Park

Evatt Park is in the southern suburb of Lugarno. With its playground, picnic areas and duck pond, the park is a great place for a family picnic.

The park is close to the Georges River; you can walk to the river's edge via a rainforest walking track.

Ramsgate Beach

Cook Park at Ramsgate Beach is a favourite place to have a picinc when the weather is warm. Today it was cold, windy and cloudy, so I didn't stay for long.

The view of Lady Robinson's Beach and Botany Bay from Cook Park in the suburb of Ramsgate Beach. That's a lot of place names in one sentence!

A friendly seagull

This seagull hovered around me as I stood on Lady Robinson's Beach looking out at Botany Bay.

Sandringham

To the south of Sandringham is the mouth of the Georges River. There is a sandy beach and a strip of public parkland along most of the water's edge and it is a nice place for birdwatching, walking and picnicking.

This creek flows into the Georges River at Sandringham. It is habitat for ducks and other water birds.

Hurstville Grove

Hurstville Grove is another suburb that borders the Georges River. Oatley Bay, in the pictures above, is just near the Moore Reserve - a large park that includes a wetland.

The wetland helps filter the stormwater run off from surrounding areas and it is home to lots of wood ducks and pacific black ducks.

Kogarah Bay

Kogarah Bay is on the Georges River in Sydney's south. On one side of the bay there is Carrs Bush Park, a beautiful piece of bushland that is home to a large number of cockatoos and other birds. Carrs Park is practically deserted on weekdays, so it's a peaceful place to go for an afternoon walk.

Kyle Bay

Kyle Bay is a tiny suburb in the St George district of Sydney. The bay is on the Georges River and is mainly surrounded by private land. There are a couple of small parks at the water's edge that are for public use. Walking in the streets nearby, there are nice views out over the river.
